An important update from us.

An Update from us on COVID-19

Good evening all,

I am pleased to be able to share with you that we are able to once again
open for visitation for both the skilled nursing and the assisted
living. Effective tomorrow, we will be 14 days with no new positive test
results and therefore are able to welcome you back. I have asked Zoe,
today to reach out to those of you that had your visits cancelled so
that we might get you back in as soon as possible. As you know, we test
again on Friday and any new positives result in closures depending on
where these individuals live or work.

There are some new changes to the visitation guidance of which you
should be aware. The RI Department of Health issued guidance February
19, just as we had to close to visitation. The new information is that
“Brief physical contact (e.g., hand holding) may be permitted if desired
by both the resident and their visitor. Both the resident and the
visitor must use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60%
alcohol before and after contact; limit the duration of the close
contact; embracing and hugging is allowed for brief periods of time as
long as both individuals are wearing masks.” All other guidance
continues to apply, ie visits must be scheduled in advance, all must be
screened upon entry, anyone not well cannot come into the building,
social distancing must be maintained and the visits still need to be
supervised/monitored. lastly, face masks are required for the duration
of your time in the building. I know this is terrific news for you, so
many of us have been missing the hugs!

We have had 5 COVID vaccination clinics and have one more on March 10.
At this time all residents in both the skilled nursing and the assisted
living that have consented to receive the vaccine, have received both
doses. We are now working on getting as many staff vaccinated as well as
any new people that moved in since our last clinic.

Let’s pray that this Lenten season brings us not only a joyful Easter,
but a healthy spring with continued success in keeping our COVID numbers
low!

Sincerely,

Mary Beth Daigneault
