Volunteer

Getting involved with St. Clare-Newport as a volunteer is a great way to work together with the staff, families, and other volunteers to provide a warm, comfortable environment for our elders. If you enjoy working with people, especially elders, we may have just the opportunity for you. You can make a real difference and find a truly rewarding experience. There are so many activities you can get involved with.

Examples include:

      • Assisting with administrative tasks, such as answering the phone or helping with the mail
      • Delivering supplies
      • Assisting with activities such as bingo or crafts
      • Assisting elders one-on-one with activities and projects
      • Transporting elders in wheelchairs to activities, the dining room, or Mass

If you have a special interest or talent you would like to share, our residents enjoy music, cooking and baking, games and current events. Our elders enjoy learning experiences and staying involved in the community through news and outings. Bring your own gifts – dancing, singing, computers, gardening – share your ideas with us.

      • Hours are flexible
      • Orientation and training are provided
      • No experience is necessary

Your gift of time and talent helps support our elders and enhance their quality of life. It helps St. Clare-Newport maintain and build on our strong ties between families, elders, and the community. Our goal is to make your personal experience as meaningful as possible.
